Being a mother to a creative little girl who has been curiously attracted to art, craft, and painting from a very young age, I have witnessed firsthand how these experiences have enriched her life. It has sparked her curiosity, built her character, and boosted her confidence in remarkable ways.
At BELLHAUS ABC Art School, we believe that art is not merely a skill to be taught or a craft to be mastered. It is the very language of possibility that shapes young minds and hearts — the little hands and curious brains that are not just the artists of tomorrow but the architects, leaders, protectors, and decision-makers of our world.
In today’s screen-saturated culture, I am passionate about removing children from the cold glow of devices and inviting them to gather on carpets, to sit together in circles — just as our African forefathers did — where storytelling reigns not only as entertainment but as a powerful, ancestral foundation of learning and community. Here, we dive deep into the lives and legacies of great masters, those pioneering artists who took colossal leaps to ignite movements, invent new color theories, and lay the very groundwork for creative thought itself.
At BELLHAUS ABC Art School, chaos and mess are not fears but fertile grounds. We encourage our young visionaries to create magic from mess and masterpieces from mayhem, embracing imperfection as a vital step toward discovery. Whether it’s through splashes of paint or sculptural forms, they learn that freedom in creation is where true innovation lies.
I come to this mission from a place deeply rooted in nature and heritage. Growing up on a farm in the Karoo, South Africa, my own creative journey was shaped profoundly by the tactile beauty of raw materials and the wisdom shared by my grandmother. Spending time among plants, feeling textures, sensing movement and light — these experiences are essential to creative growth and the human spirit.
Art education at BELLHAUS ABC Art School is a holistic experience: it fuses storytelling, sensory connection, and hands-on exploration to nurture students who will think broadly, decide thoughtfully, innovate sustainably, and protect our Earth tenderly.
